After comprehensive analysis of the 63 enterprises certified as Top Employer Spain 2015 and nearly 1,000 enterprises worldwide, we detected a number of HR trends and innovations that will set the performance of Human Resources departments locally as well as globally during this year.
With our new Top Employers Best Practices Survey that is developed by 50 experts worldwide and adapted to the realities of each country, we have evaluated nearly 600 best practices in nine different fields.The Certification Programme l is only for enterprises with the highest standards of Human Resources, which has also allowed us to capture the main trends in HR management.


1- The commitment is vital.

Commitment is the number one priority in the talent strategy of Top Employers. In order to get the engagement of employees, these companies have implemented initiatives at various levels. For example, in the onboarding processes, they give priority to the knowledge of corporate culture on the implementation day in the specific function or productivity. Other fact that demonstrates the importance that has the commitment to these organisations is that 95% conduct studies and develop action plans on the subject in evaluating good practices on recognition of employees, career opportunities and healthy work environment.


2-  Create leaders for the future - Leadership Development

Another major talent management priority of Top Employers is to transform the leaders into exchange brokers; this has become strategic decisions. In fact, the executive management is increasingly involved in the leadership development. Within the leadership development programs, enterprises identify the key business projects for participants to work on them, define different competencies for each level of management, or evaluate the skills and competencies of leaders.


3-  Integrate locally and globally.

The Top Employers Spain have a global view of Human Resources. The research results showed that 95% of these enterprises launch talent management practices consistently in all regions in which they operate, and 86% of them design workforce planning considering the organisation as a whole internationally. Moreover, 90% of these enterprises have international mobility practices.


4-  Revolution in learning - Learning and Development

The training concept is being replaced by learning and development. New platforms and continuous learning methods are implemented. Furthermore, it is considered that the development is the responsibility of the employees. In 94% of Top Employers, it is expected that they take the initiative.
They acquire importance of custom development programs based on competencies and coaching, and also more innovative methods such as peer-coaching and mentoring groups. The learning goes beyond the classical training practices such as simulations, games, communities of practice or collaborative learning experiences.


5-  Expand succession management

The Succession plans are extended far beyond the senior management and become career management in the entire organisation. Almost all enterprises promote employee mobility, and each leader is responsible for the professional development of his team.


6-  Healthy Business Practices - Compensation and Benefits

Enterprises Top Employers lay an increasing importance to the implementation of welfare programs such as stress management, time management, and personal help lines. In addition, they also have healthy lifestyle practices associated to nutrition or sports.
